Brescia, an Italian town with a rich history, was once the capital of the Celtic tribe of Brixia and later became a major city under Roman rule. It was later invaded by Germanic tribes, including the Lombards led by King Alboin. The architectural monuments in the center of Brescia, known as 'Lombards in Italy: places of power', are a great example of early medieval architecture and are included in the UNESCO Cultural Heritage List.
